Receiving SIGSEGV when installing Netbeans in linux mint

fulano
Hello. I've downloaded the .sh file for installing the IDE in version 8.2. In the frist try, it opened the GUI installer but showed a message "No jdk found". So I manually closed the GUI, returned to the terminal and installed the jdk through command line. Then, I ran the .sh installer again but now I'm having:

> fulano@fulanopc ~/Downloads $ ./netbeans-8.2-linux.sh
> Configuring the installer...
> Searching for JVM on the system...
> Extracting installation data...
> Running the installer wizard...
> Aborted

and in the same directory is attached a hs_err_pid4608.log file. In its header:

followed by a lot of debug info at assembly levels like content of the stack, registers, threads, etc...

Anyway, what could be going on here? Thanks

Use Java 1.8. You can use Java 1.9 with NetBeans but I think NetBeans
will still run under 1.8, could be wrong there.  I would install the 1.8
JDK first and get it all running and then check out:

http://wiki.netbeans.org/JDK9Support
and
http://wiki.netbeans.org/JDK9Support#Getting_Started
