Netbeans on Apache

priya465
NetBeans is clearly a critical project inside Oracle. You only have to look at the list of Oracle staff being committed to carrying on with NetBeans which includes a huge list of Oracle developers from multiple business units. Oracle http://crbtech.in/Java-Training/oracle-suggested-open-jdk-mobile-java/ is paying their salaries and wants them involved. What is exciting is the number of additional non-Oracle people now able to be involved.

If Oracle were ever to abandon NetBeans at some point, it gives NetBeans a much more viable future.[/url]

More than half of the initial committers are not from Oracle, read the document below and see the list of people at the end:

https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/NetBeansProposal

Apache projects survive or die based on the involvement of the community. You are needed:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/How+to+Participate

Thanks,

Gj
