Could not start GlassFish ...

Papa
I wrote a simple index.html page after creating a New Project->Java Web->Web Application. All it does is display is a Hey and a title.
When I press F6 I get this message:
Could not start GlassFish Server: HTTP or HTTPS listener port is occupied while server is not running

What am I doing wrong?
How can I solve this problem?

Thanks!

Hi Papa,

Either another instance of GlassFish or another server occupying the ports (HTTP: 8080, HTPS 8181: Admin. 4848) is running.

Restart system and look with netstat, if some process is runing on these
ports.

Or look at the Services Tab under Servers and stop Glassfish with right
click.

Start GlassFish from NetBeans and not by running your application. First, figure out if GlassFish is correctly installed.

Thanks so much. It was Apache the one causing the problem.

Re: Could not start GlassFish ...

You may change the GlassFish ports withing its config file to avoid future conflicts.

Do not forget also to change withing NetBeans, menus Tools, Servers.
