API to force netbeans to compile current file

Right click on the file in the project window and choose “Compile File”. 
There is a hotkey if this is something you do often.

Also you might want to consider the “compile on save” option.  This is a project property.   Right click on the project, choose property, choose “compiling” then choose “compile on save”.
