Due to a breakdown I'm not able to work and test the whole day long.
Thus, I haven't spotted my name to the go-noGo page. But I got some time to update and install the 7.1.1 RC. And maybe, there is a problem: Trying to update, NB recognized a lot of modules having to be updated. Once, the IDE alerted "42 updates" and "needs restart". I clicked on restart. And maybe this canceled all pending updates. Goging to pluging manager, moste modules (including IDE Platform) are dates as build from 2011, wheras the fresh installed buil is dated as of current year. Best, Michael |

Hello Michael,
I apologize but it's not clear to me. You wanted to update newly installed 7.1.1? Which distribution it was? Or did you try to update 7.1? Again, which distribution? Did you turn off "Certified Plugins" and "Plugin Portal" Update Centers (UC)? When installing updates, restart is only suggested _after_ all modules are downloaded. Finally, 7.1 IDE and modules on UC were built in 2011, while 7.1.1 in 2012. Only several modules changed in 7.1.1 so if you update 7.1 to 7.1.1 only these modules will replace those from 7.1 hence majority remains built in 2011 and new ones show up as from 2012. Hi Jirka,
I tried to update 7.1 as described by you. I restarted _as_ the IDE displayed restart is needed. At the same time, the IDE displayed "42 updates". If restart is suggested only _after_ all modules are downloaded, then ND _should_ display "restart needed" only after this is completed. Otherwise users (not only me) would restart to early. And then, update would not be continued :( Best, Michael Am 21.02.2012 09:30, schrieb Jiří Kovalský: > Hello Michael, > > I apologize but it's not clear to me. Hm, then you probably faced a bug. What about the chosen distribution
and enabled Update Centers? If you find time and reproduce it again, please make a screenshot of the IDE with Plugin Manager opened showing those 42 updates and file a bug. Jirka,
Due to a horrible breakdown [1] I'm very restricted in time for a couple of days or weeks. Thus, I'm afraid I can not reproduce this soon. Best Regards, Michael [1] http://blog.mueller-bruehl.de/en/buecher/the-breakdown/ Am 21.02.2012 11:00, schrieb Jiří Kovalský: > Hm, then you probably faced a bug. Oh, I am really sorry to hear that. Forget about testing NetBeans and
focus all your energy to recover soon! Hello everybody,
I am not sure whether this is proper place to post this information, however, I will do anyway :) I have, recently, upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion and there are two major issues that may impact NetBeans. 1. Current version of Mountain Lion removes all Java Virtual Machines contrary to Lion, there is no default package yet which means you are not able to install Java 2. Current version of Oracle's Java http://jdk7.java.net/macportpreview/ works terribly at OS X Mountain Lion - you can forget about starting NetBeans (probably there is a workaround, however I didn't have time to test it and I had to downgrade) Anyway, Java 1.7 is in a status where executing: java --version (there is one additional dash, and I know it is incorrect switch) results in an exception and Java Virtual machine bails out. Hope this may help people who think about moving to OS X ML Preview Cheers Michal |

Hmm I am running Montain Lion a was able to find a java 1.6 version. I
thing even it is a 29 or 30 update. I don't really remember how I did it, but I think when I tried to run NB the first time after the upgrade to Lion, the OS asked me if I wanted to install Java what I did. Now the docs, headers, sources for this version must downloaded separately at developer.apple.com (you need a login). This is all free.
